American Steel “Every New Morning”
admin | Film Cameras26 Oct 2011
In the summer of 2007, I got a phone call from Scott Healy (drummer of American Steel) that told me that American Steel was reforming with Scott back in the lineup. This excited me to no end and it was a secret of sorts. They asked me to come over to San Francisco and document their entire recording process for their new record that was to be released on Fat Wreck Chords. But since I was living in New York and working full time, I couldn’t drop everything and fly out there. But we did coordinate my attendance and filming of their first official show back at Bottom of The Hill. This is one song from that concert. I shot with a 16mm film camera while I had others film with DVX100 miniDV cameras. I am hoping that one day this footage will be of some use to someone. I couldn’t find a copy of this edit without the watermark so this will have to suffice for now. Sorry about that, but at least you get to see some of it right now even if it’s far from perfect.
